Paediatric Services at Fremantle Hospital

The Paediatric Department is happy to respond to GP requests for information / advice. The on-call Consultant can be contacted through FH Switchboard (ask to page the Paediatric Registrar during office hours, Paediatric Consultant after hours). Telephone consultations are welcomed and encouraged prior to referral.

The Paediatric Unit at Fremantle Hospital is a modern purpose built facility providing medical, limited neonatal, surgical and emergency paediatric services to the South Metropolitan region

The Department caters for children from 1 day – 18 years and has a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient service. The department is supported by Ophthalmology, ENT and the Orthopaedics Department, all of whom offer emergency service. Patients requiring intensive care, either neonatal or paediatric age are transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital.
