Brief History

Fremantle Hospital was established in 1897.  Two books have been written on the Hospital.

In 1987, Phyl Garrick and Chris Jeffery completed Fremantle Hospital: a Social History to 1987 which was published by the Fremantle Hospital Board of Management.

Medical Background: Being a History of Fremantle Hospitals and Doctors with Appendix - The Fremantle Hospital 1897-1967 was written by J.H. Stubbe and published for the Fremantle Hospital Board by the University of Western Australia Press in 1969.
