Volunteers

A variety of public spirited community members are invaluable to Fremantle Hospital and Health Service in their voluntary commitment of time and skills.

The Spirit of Community

Volunteers make valuable contributions to our community. The tasks they perform range from fundraising to teaching and the organisations to which they give their time range across the spectrum of services. In 2000 almost 429,000 people in Western Australia or 1/3 of the population were volunteers. There are many interpretations of the term ’volunteer’. However the most commonly accepted definition is ' …someone who willingly provides unpaid help, in the form of time, service or skills, through an organisation or group'.
