Podiatry

The Podiatry Department at Fremantle Hospital provides a range of services for both inpatients and outpatients, which includes podiatry,  shoe prescription and foot health education.

The role of the podiatrist is to help improve mobility and enhance independence of clients by preventing and treating pathological foot problems and associated morbidity. This is achieved by assessment, diagnosis and treatment of foot pathology, based on agreed care plans which includes referral to other disciplines as appropriate, and provision of direct care as deemed necessary. Foot health education remains a key focus of the podiatry service.
