Hospital in the Home (HITH) is a quality alternative to hospitalisation which relocates hospital services to the patient's own environment. Fremantle Hospital registered patients are entitled to and may choose this alternative treatment option if they meet the selection criteria and require treatment that can be managed in their place of residence. These patients remain in-patients of Fremantle Hospital under the Governance of the responsible Medical team. The acute care is coordinated and delivered by Senior Registered Nurses from Fremantle Hospital, who have appropriate education, training and skills to undertake complex patient care. The Infectious Diseases Unit assists with advice and monitoring for long term parental antibiotic therapy and routine drug assays | |||
